Should you need to seek urgent medical advice when the surgery is closed, please telephone 0300 1231893 and listen to the full message which will advise on the appropriate action to take.

If you need medical help fast, but it isn't a 999 emergency, you can now call NHS 111 who will direct you to the local service that can help you best.  Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, calls are free, including from mobiles.

Out of hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Our practice is in the heart of Hartshill and is accessible on foot with good footpaths to the practice. For those with mobility issues or travelling from further away we have a bus stop just outside of the practice (Ashwell Road stop). The number 11 bus runs regularly throughout the day (bus timetable). There is also a cycle path along Hartshill Road (A52) and we have a bike stand outside of the practice for patient use.

Hartshill Medical Centre is a single storey building. The whole building is wheelchair accessible with all consultation rooms and toilets situated on the ground floor. Our car park has designated disabled bays located opposite the main doors.

Hearing Difficulties

If you are experiencing hearing difficulties when being called in to see the doctor or nurse, please do let us know in order for us to set up an alert on your medical records and a person will collect you from the waiting room. Alternatively, we do have the facility of a portable induction loop. If you would like to use this, please ask at reception for assistance.

A large car park is provided for visitors to the Hartshill Medical Centre only. A one-way traffic system is in operation around the car park, with separate entrance and exits.  A traffic flow system is in operation at the entrance to the Medical Centre - any attempt to leave the car park via the entrance will cause damage to vehicles. Please exit the car park therefore, via the barrier, for which you will need a token available from reception. 

Parking is for patients using the Hartshill Medical Centre only - a £5 charge will be made for unauthorised use.

General practice is commissioned by Integrated Care Boards (ICB), our local ICB is the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Intergrated Care Board.
